The agreement between you and KIVU Leaf Limited when you buy in a Drop.

8PM Drop is a trading name of KIVU Leaf Limited (RC 9572141), registered in Nigeria. These terms apply to every order placed through this site. By paying for an item you accept them.

What a Drop is

A Drop is a buying window. It opens at 8 p.m. Nigeria time on dates we announce in advance — not every night, and not on a fixed schedule. While a Drop is open you can order any item in it, from one unit up to the per-order limit shown on that item (five unless the item says otherwise). There is no minimum order quantity.

Each item carries two limits, and whichever is reached first ends ordering on that item:

• A cap — the number of units we are able to procure in that Drop.
• A clock — ordering closes 24 hours after the Drop opens.

When an item closes, every paid order for it proceeds. There is no minimum activation target: we do not cancel a Drop for being undersubscribed.

How the price works

Every item has a published price ladder: a starting price, and lower prices that unlock at stated numbers of paid orders. You always pay the price showing at the moment you pay.

If a lower price unlocks before that item closes, we credit the difference for every unit you bought to your 8PM Drop balance the moment the item settles. It is a credit on your account, not a card refund: it comes off your next order automatically, or you can ask for it in cash to your Nigerian bank account at any time. You do not have to ask for the credit and you do not have to be watching. If no lower price unlocks, you paid the price you agreed to and nothing changes.

Prices only ever move downwards within a Drop. We will not charge you more than the price you paid at checkout for any reason.

Placing an order

• Your quantity is held for 10 minutes while you complete payment. If payment is not completed in that time — or the payment fails — the hold is released at once and the units return to the pool. While pieces are held by somebody else the item says "being paid for", not "sold out".
• You can have at most three unpaid checkouts open at once. Unpaid ones release on their own.
• Only a successful payment counts as an order. An abandoned checkout does not reserve anything past its hold and does not count towards a price tier.
• Payment is processed by Paystack. We never see or store your card details.
• We may cancel and fully refund an order if an item was listed with a materially wrong price or description, if the supplier cannot fulfil it, or if we reasonably believe the order is fraudulent. If we cancel, you get your money back in full, including any delivery fee.

Quality inspection

We verify the supplier before an item is listed. After an item closes, the batch is inspected at origin — including through our inspection partner where applicable — before it ships. Inspection happens after your order, not before it: when you buy, inspection is planned, not yet done.

If an item fails inspection and cannot be replaced from the same supplier, we cancel that item and refund every order for it in full, including delivery.

Suggesting and voting

Anyone can ask for a product or vote for one that has been asked for. Asking costs nothing, needs no account, and pays nothing by itself: it tells us what to source next. We may decline any request without giving a reason.

Scouts

A scout is a member who lists a product they have found — photographs, specifications, colours and sizes — for other people to back. Every listing is reviewed by a person before it appears, and we may decline one with a reason. We refuse counterfeits and copies of other people's products; branded goods we can source from the maker or an authorised distributor are welcome.

• If a listed product is sourced and sold in a Drop, the scout earns a fee on every unit sold, in that Drop and in every Drop the product ever runs in again. The fee per unit is shown on the listing before the Drop opens and can differ by product.
• Where more than one scout lists the same product, the earliest listing that was not declined keeps the credit. Later listings of the same product earn nothing, and we say so on the scout's own board.
• The scout's fee is credited to their 8PM Drop balance when the Drop that sold the units settles. Units that are refunded do not earn.
• Scouts are credited publicly by a handle they choose, never by their real name. Turning scouting off is one press on the same screen that turned it on; listings already credited keep earning.

Referrals

Referral commission is earned on completed purchases only. It is single level: you earn on people you referred, not on people they refer. Nothing is earned for a sign-up, a click, or an account that never buys. Commission is credited to your 8PM Drop balance when the Drop containing the referred order settles, and is reversed if that order is later refunded.

Reviews

Reviews on this site are written by members and go live the moment they are written. Nobody at 8PM Drop writes reviews, and nobody is paid for one. Three kinds exist and each has to be earned: a product review needs an order for that product delivered to you (one review per order); a review of earning here needs money that has actually been paid to you as a referrer, scout or live seller; a review of the platform needs a confirmed account, at most one every 30 days. A member may write at most 5 reviews a day.

A review is shown under your first name, or your scout handle, with what stands behind it — "verified purchase", "verified earner", "member since". Never your surname, phone number or email. We may hide a review that contains personal contact details, abuse, or content about something other than what it claims to review; when we do, the reason is recorded and the review is never deleted. By posting a review or a listing you allow us to display it on this site, including after your account is closed, under "a former member".

Your account

An account is identified by an email address, proven each time by a six-digit code. There is no password. When you create an account you accept these terms and the privacy notice by ticking the box; agreeing to hear about new Drops and offers is a separate box and never pre-ticked, and you can switch it off from your account at any time. Order and wallet messages are sent regardless, because they are part of the service you bought.

You can delete your account yourself from your settings. We first make sure nothing of yours is left behind: a wallet balance must be cashed out and any order still on its way must arrive. Your name, contact details, address, alert devices and preferences are then removed and every device is signed out. Orders and wallet entries keep their amounts, with no person attached, because other buyers' prices were worked out from them. We may close an account that is used to place orders it does not pay for, to post counterfeit listings, or to abuse other members.

Things we do not promise

• That any particular Drop will open on any particular date.
• That a lower price tier will be reached.
• That an item will still be available by the time you finish deciding — caps are real and items do close early.
• That a closed Drop will return. Some do; assume none will.

Your responsibilities

• Give a delivery address and phone number that are correct and reachable. Failed deliveries caused by a wrong address or an unreachable number are not refundable, though we will always try to re-deliver.
• Do not place orders you do not intend to pay for or accept.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under Nigerian consumer law, including the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act. Where liability can be limited, our liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.
